09 Aug The cultural character of Andros
Summer in Greece…………..Cyclades……Andros Island
Most of the time travelling for me is about cool hunting. And it is true that in every place you can find these small things that make the difference. When it comes to summer, Greek islands is the first thing that comes in my mind! Some time before I visited Andros, in Cyclades, for a christening. Except of the outstanding beaches and delicious food you can find almost in every island in Greece, what impressed me was its ‘Je ne sais quoi’ character…………elegant atmosphere found in shops and restaurants in Hora, capital of Andros, and a strong cultural impact. Art galleries and the Museum of Contemporary Art, inaugurated by the Vasilis and Elisa Goulandris Foundation in 1979, host permanent and periodic exhibitions promoting Greek and international modern and contemporary art to the general public. A must see is also the art gallery of Christos Efstathiou. Read the full story here.
Enjoy your summer!
