04 Sep Les Parfums Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton launched its first perfume range for the first time this week.
Targeting to enter the beauty market which makes revenues for other luxury giants such as Chanel and LVMH’s Dior, Louis Vuitton engaged star industry “nose” Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud four years to prepare the launch. The perfumer, who had previously created many commercially successful perfumes including L’Eau d’Issey for Issey Miyake and L’Oréal’s Poeme for Lancome and Acqua di Gio for Armani, prepared for the French luxury brand a collection of seven perfumes named “Rose Des Vents”, “Mille Feux”, “Dans La Peu”, “Matiere Noire”, “Contre Moi”, “Apogee”, “Turbulences”.
In the presentation before hitting the stores, which was held in a shell installation made up of plexiglass pipes, we had the chance to review also some exclusive pieces such as a box case for 3 perfumes – that can be worn also as a bag! and is available upon order – and a special chest of drawers which hosted scents and raw materials used for the perfumes. A dream piece indeed!! Important to mention that the famous fashion house is changing its iconic brown packaging bags to orange with blue handles, to remind of its original leathers and give a fresh look. The perfumes are available at 180 LV boutiques around the world. If LV scents are going to become a staple as its Speedy bag, time will show….but you can definitely give a try! My fav’s: Matiere Noire, Contre Moi and Apogee.
