This project is about the restoration and reuse of an old industrial building with mill to house in Thessaly region, Greece. From the old building the external stone skin of 60cm depth was kept, which is a material with great heat capacity appropriate for the Mediterranean climate and preserves the individual identity of the region, while new openings were designed since daylight needs in a house are higher than in a mill. Inner arrangement was designed having in mind the fixed orientation of existed building, its situation on the plot, surroundings and view. Surrounding landscape design includes a variety of plants – reducing by this way temperature during summer and improving microclimate.
