14 Nov Grand Mosque Experience

The Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi….what an experience!!

There are few places around the world that you want to leave photographs speak for them. My last trip in Abu Dhabi revealed one of them…Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

For the history, it was initiated by the late president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who wanted to establish a structure which unites the cultural diversity of Islamic world, the historical and modern values of architecture and art. Natural materials such as marble stone, gold, semi-precious stones, crystals and ceramics from many countries including  India, Italy, Germany, Morocco, Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia, Iran, China, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Greece and United Arab Emirates. Its design has been inspired by Persian, Mughal and Moorish mosque architecture with direct influences by the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan and the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco.

A fusion of Arab, Persian, Mughal and Moorish architecture, riveting for its visitors……..this is the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
