Alessi is one of the leading companies for Italian design.
Founded in 1921 by Giovanni Alessi, it creates a variety of personal and household objects. From the 1980s onward, Alessi has been particularly associated with the notion of “designer” objects – otherwise ordinary tools and objects executed as high design, particularly in a post-modern mode. Throughout the years with famous designers, such as Ettore Sottsass, Richard Sapper, Philippe Starck, Alessandro Mendini, Achille Castiglioni, Aldo Rossi, Michael Graves, Stefano Giovannoni, Guido Venturini, Karim Rashid, Marcel Wanders, Fratelli Campana etc have collaborated with company and created some of its bestseller products.
